Priory Mill, a water powered corn or grist mill
on the River Honddu just north of Brecon,
has been the home of many families since at least the 1750’s
and perhaps far longer.
This is the story of the mill told through the families who lived there.
Written by the descendant of one of the millers,
using from obscure archives, newspapers and public records
it shows something of the tracks that our ancestors
have left on history, and the mill’s journey
from its Georgian and Victorian heyday
to 20th Century ruin
and back to today’s careful restoration.
